F Your Boss Magoo

I might have to go Sopranos on this woman if she doesn't start opening up her check book. If she doesn't pony up on the 1st you better be ready to walk straight out that door and mean business. You cannot be undervalued. You are too good for this. Don't let her walk all over you. I am fired up!!!

Day 2 at work. I had my first diet coke in 5 days and it is like heaven. Long live Diet Coke. I wish I was feeling 1000% for the weekend cause there is a lot going on but i am still going to go out and take it easy. Tonight is Andy's birthday and Carrie is throwing him a big party. Tomorrow is Venetian Night. It's a huge boat parade where boat decorate themselves like floats with lights and ridiculous things and there are jet fly-bys and fireworks and all the boats tie up together and party. Sunday is supposed to be really nice and sunny. We'll probably boat but you can't pay me to swim in the sewer lake. E-coli once is enough for me.

Next Saturday is my 1 year anniversary with Drew! Yippie. We are not making a big production out of it. Just laying low. Maybe one day we will be able to check into the 4 seasons and get couples massages and feast on bonbons and Dom but not this year.... The FANTASTIC news is that Dreamy is coming to FL and we are so excited! He wants you all to save a dance for him (and Mary Rowe, too) He misses his Mary Rowe.

Love you all. P.S. Mom needs to go take the beginner computer classes with the mexicans and 8 year olds at the S.H. public library or something. This is ridiculous.

Lastly, my IT guy (aka Boy Wonder- he is special if you know what I mean...) is going to work on my computer this weekend so another delay in the food blog but don't worry, it's in the works and looking good! Viva Everything is better with bacon!

Sold!!!! to.....we'll see.

The Jeep is now selling for $1675 and there have been 55 bids made on Ebay! It will be exciting to see what it finally sells for. I thought I would get about $850 for it. Yippee!

My boss told me today that I would get a raise by the end of the month - we'll see how that goes...

We have tickets to go to the Giant's game on Sunday which is when they predict Barry Bonds will hit the record breaking homer. Everybody around here is excited about this so we're lucky to have a way in.

Glad to hear you are recovering Lizzy. I can't believe you got E.Coli. Actually, I can believe it.
Lyd, what did you get Dill for his birthday?

Back from the dead

Sorry to be so MIA but according to Dr. Lee it turns out I caught E-coli from Lake Michigan after a day of boating on Sunday. Pretty intense, not gonna lie. Averaging about 16 hours of sleep a living on about 3 saltines a day. However, on the up and up and expect to be in the office tomorrow. Drew has been nothing short of amazing. He took me to the Doctor, he bought me an US weekly, he massaged my head, he bought me applesauce, he slept on my couch and checked on me at night, he answered my phone and canceled my appointments. I have never been SO taken care of in my life. Wow. His momma raised him right!

The blog is obviously on hold. I need to catch up on about 300 emails before I start back up on that. I changed the name to: Everything is Better with Bacon. Couldn't help it b/c it is so true.

Lucille, sorry about the predicament you are in. I feel for you but you'll work it out. Lyd, MI may turn out to be mellow and great and kids will like it. Did Dill like his b-day duds you got him?

Love to all.

No excuses

I had the blogger send a new invitation for Mom to sign up with a new password so she will have no excuses! Luc, you do so much cool stuff. I love that about you guys. Hope you are feeling better Lizzy.

Great Blog Lyd

I've managed to meet all three of Justin's ex-girlfriends in one week - two at last weekend's wedding and one today for brunch. The one today just got back from living in Africa for two years. She lived in the country Togo - I didn't even know that country existed. She told some incredible stories of her experiences there, so it was actually really nice to meet her- she is one of nine children!

Last night we went to see 16 candles in Dolores Park. About 1500 people attended which was the best turn-out they'd ever had at one of these things. Tons of people dressed up in 80's clothes, brought picnics and watched the movie. It was one of those wonderful nights in San Francisco. I really really love this city.

We went to Bolinas today and hung out on the beach. It was really windy out there but sunny and beautiful. This coming week is busy with lots of dinners with friends. We had a great dinner party at our house on Friday night - we made salmon, brown-buttered corn and a fig/goat cheese salad. It was delicious. We had dinner with some friends tonight and they invited us to Berkeley to learn how to cook thai food and curry, so I'll be sure to post on Lizzie's new blog on that one. Have a good week everyone!

There's no place like home

God do I wish I could click my heals and get back to California ASAP. We are back in Atlanta and the adjustment has been hell. Mary Rowe won't even go outside because she says she gets too sweaty and Baker wants to know why we don't have a pool in our backyard. Spencer could care less, at least he is content. Dill got back on Saturday from the Phillipiines and has been sleeping all day and staying up all night. He did have a few waking hours today to celebrate his birthday today. It was a nice rainy day so we watched the Britiish Open, opened presents, hit the pirate Pinata I got him, and then went to Houstons for Dinner. Baker is off to his first day of Kindergarten camp tomorrow. MR and I are headed to the doctor for me to get an IUD put in. Never had one, but have heard they are great. I wish they weren't great because I would love another baby someday, but we shall see. Can't wait until we leave for Michigan on Saturday. We are actually going to drive the whole way in 2 days this time. That means from Atl to Cinncinatti, then Cinn to Harbor Springs. No skin off my back, I love driving and having all the kids restrained. It is a heavenly situation for me. Plus I have mastered the art of tuning them out completely in the car. So books on tape here we come! Tomorrow is day 21 of my "life change", and I must say, I have lost a ton of weight. I easily fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes and am on my way to getting even thinner. Yippie. I think I am morphing into popeye though with all of the raw spinach I have been eating. We finally got our tickets for Florida today. We get there on Wednesday at 5 and leave on Saturday at 5:30. Does anyone else get in at that time because we will be renting a car if you want a ride. We are actually really looking forward to the trip. Mary Rowe has never been to the ocean and the hotel looks great. it has an amazing kids pool with a waterslide and waterfall etc. Lizzy, I love your idea for the blog. I have my knitting blog on the side. I wish I wrote and posted pictures more because it is fun. Dill is even excited about your idea and said he would definately participate so send him the link when you get it. Are you going through the Blogger sight? It was so fun seeing you both and your significant others. Lizzy, I have to say, Mom and I looooooved Drew. We couuld not believe how considerate, helpful and just all around precious he was. Time for me to knit a few more rows and hit the hay. Spencer is consistantly sleeping through the night now so I don't dread going to sleep at night. Makes life a lot easier when you can get a few hours of sleep at night. Love to all and can't wait to see you in Floriday. If you have a wild hair, come to Michigan.

This is a fabulous idea. I can not wait for this!!

Exciting News!

I am so excited to tell you guys about my new blog, Food, Family and Friends! I have been working on it this week and hope to launch next Tuesday. It seems crazy to me that a family and circle of friends that are such foodies aren't sharing pictures of their food/ parties, original or family recipes or disasters and masterpieces in one place. Wouldn't it be great to see what Debbie or Lucille or Carrie and on, and on and on, cooked last night or a review of a restaurant someone liked or loved?

Well, I think it would be fun and even if no one participates, it will be my hobby. It is already shaping up and looking great. The great news too is is that anyone can join in. Any friend can post with out registering or leave a comment (so no bogus excuses about passwords from mom and chaz). I am going to have links to all the cooking sites, a book list for foodies, You Tube video clips from TopChef, ect, going to have survey polls with fun foodie questions, a recipe of the week and a recipe box!

So, I'll be busy this weekend but I am excited about it. Hope you both will like it too and would love to start sharing our food secrets! Lyd, you will have to blog for both you and masterchef dill!

A Great Time at Home

Well, we had a great time at home. I am trying to convince Drew to go into intellectual property for the wine business so we can move to Napa and I can be black tan and play tennis every day. Tish's wedding was beautiful and I had forgotten how amazing Tahoe is in the summer. Drew just loved it. We stayed in the adorable cabin in the woods across from the lake. Very cute. Magoo, you and Justin would like it. Loved seeing Lyd and the kids and meeting Spencer and Lovey. Mom and Mike were great and it was awesome to catch up with Clark. Very proud of Lyd, you really kept to your diet. Keep it up! Love to all. Have a great week.

A Great Time in CA!

Jackson

Well, I am alive, barely. This has been this most physically strenuous week I have ever had. Last night I was so tired, I just started crying. I will send you guys an ofoto album and you will see. We came to this house, and it was still completely under construction. In one week, the entire house is finished, every piece of furniture has been moved in, every bed made - perfectly, every picture hung, every plate, fork, pot in the kitchen went through the dishwasher, I could go on and on. There were about 25 workers that were there along with us hanging chandeliers, putting in air conditioning, landscaping the outside, installing an alarm system, and a serious audio vision system. It has been insane. But I have learned so much about construction this week. I've made some incredible friends who have all said I could come back and stay with them and get free ski lift tickets, go fly fishing, go paragliding off the Grand. The people here are WONDERFUL, but they move at a REALLY slow pace. I come home tomorrow and am getting a MASSAGE in a big big big way. Then we are off to Santa Barbara for a wedding. Sounds like you guys are having a great time at home. This has been a really positive week for me. I am exhausted, but I love what I do for a living. Have fun at the wedding this weekend Lizzie. Lyd, good job with the 'life change'!! Love you guys!

Day 10 and Going Strong, am I Skinny Yet?????

Well, still holding strong on the diet. Excuse me, the "Life Change." Have turned down bread, milk shakes, fresh cookies, rice pudding and many other delicious items during this time. Am I skinny yet, the answer, NOOOOOOO! All I need is for you, Lizzy, to come today and show me that new hot body of yours. Maybe that will be motivation to keep on keepin on. Have had the best summer ever. Can't believe we have to leave in a week. It has been so fast. I wish I could extend longer, but Baker has Kindergarten camp when we get back. Dill is in London so I am actually a little nervous. I am never nervous over his travels, but there has been a bit to much terrorist activity there recently. Can't wait to see Liz and Drew today. Should be fun. Played tennis with Michael and his tennis buddies this morning and then went to the knit shop with Mom. We were so excited because one of the most famous knitting pattern designers was there so it was like seeing a movie star for us. We almost died. Pathetic indeed. Looking forward to a fancy diet meal from Lizzy tonight. I love all of these fancy cookin sisters I have. Lucille is definatley the best cook in disguise. Soooo under the radar and does not trash talk. Incredible. Luc, hope Jackson Hole improves. Love to all.

Dreaded Mondays

Good updates everyone! Magoo, cool pillow and great design. I am counting down the days until I can get out to Napa. A week from the 4th, so excited!

Well, the Cubs have been wining a lot lately so this town has Cubs fever. We went to a game last week and watched the series against Milwaukee this week. The weather was beautiful this weekend. My friend from NYC, Friedman, was in town so I had 6 people over for dinner last night. It was so fun. I made a salad with arugula, golden beets, goat cheese and pistachio nuts. Then, I made crab cakes served on top of avocado and a roasted corn salad with jicama, black beans, grape tomatoes and cilantro. Peach cobbler for desert that was out of this world. I added mexican vanilla and meyers dark rum to the brown sugar and cornstarch and it was a big hit.

Have a good week all.
